NCUA is Accepting Streamlined CDFI Applications

Low-income designated credit union are eligible to take advantage of a streamlined process to become a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI).  The National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) is accepting applications to utilize this process between June 4th and June 22nd.  Only low-income designated credit unions can apply through the streamlined process by submitting their loan origination data to NCUA's Office of Resources and Expansion.  Other credit unions can apply through the standard CDFI Certification.  More details regarding the streamlined application process can be found by clicking the More Information button below.

Some benefits of receiving a CDFI certification include:

  • Apply for funding through CDFI programs
  • Participate in training and technical assistance sponsored by the CDFI Fund
  • Apply for awards administered by the CDFI Fun
